Growing Watermelons in the Philippines: A Large-Scale Operation

I just ran across this story about watermelon production in the Phlippines.

Wu Yulien, a Taiwanese, who is renting that 250 hectares from the 6,000-hcctare Hacienda Luisita. He grows nothing but watermelons, mainly for export.

I love watermelons! I dont' know whether I'd be so interested in a 250-acre farm, but I could be happy eating a small watermelon each day. We did successfully grow some watermelons in Negros Oriental in our garden last year.
